Grab Your Cape, You’ve Pulled

…Pulled a corker of an outfit choice, that is. Because this cape is D R E A M Y. It looks like a dream. It hangs like a dream. It moves like a dream (as can be witnessed in video 1, and images 4 and 5). It is The Dream. It’s a little on the pricey side, admittedly, but it’s one of those pieces that you can justify to your mum (or your account, depending on what stage of life you’ve hit; I’m still very much in the teen phase, regressing one unemployed day at a time) with the phrase ‘investment piece’. “But, Mum, it’s an investment piece.” “But, Boyf, it’s an investment piece.” “Look, girls, I know I said I’d go out for drinks this week, but I just bought a cape – it’s a total investment piece – and I’d much rather see it on my back than see the bottom of that bottle of Prosecco I promised we’d swig.” You see? This is a fringed dream coat. And it functions perfectly as an excuse to not get bladdered this weekend. You, and your liver, are so welcome. (It also functioned as a four-week-post-wax diversion, stealthily drawing ones eye away from my overgrown vagina, whilst simultaneously acting as a masking agent for the aforementioned overgrown hair. One could not tell where the fringing ended and where the female fibres began. I call it #fringeminge.)

I actually wore this Mango marvellosity (not a word) to the one and only day of LFW I attended (LFW and I are experiencing a rough patch in our relationship; read all ’bout it here) and I feel as though the fluidity of the fringing, paired with my next level dance moves and the sultry tones of Jhene Aiko, really bring the jacket to life. #jheneaikoat

Thank you, darling!! Hahaha I’m hoping #fringeminge catches on and one day I will walk down the street and giving a knowing nod to a fellow fringe-donner, safe in the knowledge that she too has overgrown female fibres she’s tryna incorporate into her swish get-up. xxx
